In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, whose blessings are abundant and whose grace is everlasting. He has elevated knowledge and those who pursue it, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, who was sent with guidance and the true religion, and who made the pursuit of knowledge an obligation upon every Muslim, male and female.

It gives me great pleasure and honor, in my capacity as Head of the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Education – Mizdah, to present this brief message highlighting the department and its academic mission. I sincerely thank Allah Almighty for granting me the opportunity to serve religion, my country, and society in general, and to serve the university, the faculty, and the Department of Physics in particular.

Physics has played a vital and undeniable role in the advancement of human civilizations. Its discoveries have brought about profound transformations across modern technological sectors, contributing significantly to shaping a brighter future for humanity. In response to the rapid scientific and technological developments and to meet the needs of our society, the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Education, University of Gharyan, has, since its establishment, placed academic excellence and quality at the heart of its educational mission—and these will remain its core objectives.

Our academic program focuses on preparing graduates capable of simplifying and effectively communicating physics concepts through laboratory experiments and practical applications, closely integrated with theoretical foundations. This is achieved by providing both physical and virtual laboratories that enhance students’ understanding and engagement with physics. Such an approach aims to bridge the gap between school-level and university-level physics, address students’ reluctance toward the discipline, and encourage greater enrollment in the department.

We firmly believe that physics is not merely an academic subject, but a gateway to creativity, innovation, and technological progress. Accordingly, the department aspires to strengthen scientific research by encouraging both students and faculty members to participate actively in academic and research activities at the local and international levels.

In conclusion, we warmly welcome all students who aspire to join the Department of Physics to build a promising future through the fascinating world of physics.

May Allah grant success to all.

Description

The Department of Physics is one of the core scientific departments within the Faculty of Education – Mizdah. The department offers an academic and educational program leading to the Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, following a semester-based system consisting of eight (8) academic semesters.

The department began admitting students in the academic year 2022–2023 and has witnessed strong interest and positive enrollment. The program requires the successful completion of 139 credit units, including university requirements, faculty requirements, specialized physics courses, supporting courses, and elective courses. In addition, the program includes a teaching practicum, during which students are assigned to schools to gain hands-on experience in classroom teaching and direct interaction with school students during the final semester.

Vision

The Department of Physics aspires to a future in which the horizons of physical sciences continue to expand, achieving leadership in research, education, innovation, and development in accordance with international standards.
